Brooklyn, Mich. – Horace Brooks took to the Michigan track with a heavy heart.Him and his family had just learned that his father had cancer. Brooks debated about not even running in the event but decieded to go ahead and race. With the thoughts of his father in his mind Brooks was able to qualify on the outside pole position and he took the lead at the drop of the green flag. The race started out kind of bad as it had 4 cautions in the first 24 laps, but after that it went green until the end of green flag pit stops. After the restart Brooks driving on shear will and with a heavy foot to boot started his march to the front. When a late race yellow came out Brooks was setting in second place. After the restart Brooks wasted little time as he made the pass for the lead. Brooks was able to hold off all comers from that point on to get the win. Brooks was qouted in Victory Circle dedicating the win to his father.

I want to send well wishes out to the Brooks family and would also like to say on behalf of STRL that we all will keep them in our prayers.
