TRIBUTES/MEMORIALS TO LEGENDS

            Bill Hull

Bill Hull, a network administrator from South Carolina, has always been interested in computers, the outdoors, and racing of any kind.

It was 1995 when Hull bought NASCAR 1 and began racing against computer opponents. Hull went through several updated versions of Papyrus's NASCAR Racing Games always racing against the computer, but it wasn't until 6 years later in 2001 that Hull decided to press the "Multi-player" button for the first time in NASCAR 4. He immediately saw the potential for an incredible competition among racing enthusiasts and friends from all over the world.

After getting frustrated with poorly controlled open server races and poorly administrated leagues, Hull decided in 2001 to create a new chapter in online racing, the Sim-Tech Racing League (STRL). STRL was designed to be an online racing club run basically like that of a business where customers (drivers) were considered the most important part of the success of the business (league). Driver responsibility, good attitude, compassion, good leadership, and friendship were the focus during the organizing and continued growth of this great league up to the present day. These factors have made STRL to be the great place it is today.

Above: Bill Hull leads the very first lap of racing in STRL history in the Charger Division's Daytona race on Thurs. August 9th, 2001.

Hull would become STRL's first champion of both of its divisions, Charger and Challenger, in the inaugural 2001 STRL season. Over his first 3 years of involvement with STRL, Hull would win 11 times and capture 11 poles total among the league's Charger, Challenger, and IROC (including SSCRS) divisions. Hull would win the 2002 SSCRS (IROC) division Championship and would win the First Session in STRL's Sunday Night Rumble in 2003.

Hull's favorite NASCAR driver is Bobby Labonte and favorite tracks are Lowe's Motor Speedway and Darlington Raceway. He can be seen at these local racing establishments quite frequently and always signs autographs willingly for those who recognize him.

Hull drives a 2000 Ford F-150 to work everyday where his ongoing education and occupation with computers continues to develop his skills and knowledge with the science of computers. He dreams one day to have a job that has something to do with racing, one that would take him behind the scenes in racing, working with what he enjoys most, computers.
